Saw Joe last year at Bournemouth, really good concert, I think sometimes artists are pressured to bringing out albums to quick, this album has that fill about it,still a very good album which you would expect from Joe, not an A but a B plus.

This is not a bad album but having said that it's not good either. I think there are two stand out tracks 'Dust Bowl' which is just what it is. My favourite was 'Sweet Rowena' with Vince Gill. It has his best guitar playing in it and the only solo where he doesn't do Eric Johnston style phrasing. I'm a big fan of Joe but I think he needs to cut down on the speed of his playing in places, it's just not necessary. 'Heartbreaker' would have been much better if he could gave got Paul Rodgers to sing it with him. Glenn Hughes does nothing for the song. I prefer his last few albums and was expecting more from this.

Been waiting for an album like this for years. It's strikes the perfect balance of rock & blues for me- it has some delightfully indulgent solos but not in a way that reminds me of the 80s- he pulls back just enough + the excellent production has brought this classic style up to date and out of the bushy hair era. Jon' s voice is also highly dexterous, he can hit the soft tones when needed or blast out the gravel when the song calls for it. The result, an album that makes we want to drive faster, drink more whiskey, and pan the hell of of my guitar. PRISONER my favourite track - I just can't get enough of it + Black Lung Heartache gets my pulse racing when it drops from folk to rock. Jon, you're an inspiration man, more please.

I think Joe has got a bit lost here, dont get me wrong what a talent, but this album is very poor..!! Joe seems to just be ripping off kossoff Clapton and page.. This album is full full of thier signatory guitar hooks. It's very easy to get bored listening to it and I found myself getting more and more irritated by his voice as the album goes on. Only a 1 out of 5 for me this time....having been following him for some years very Dissapointed, good job I've got Matt schofields heads tales and aces album as it blows this album off the planet.

Buy this album, it is varied in content, brilliant in execution. Am I biased?? Yes I am, I love talented musicians.
