This show is just mind blowing
War of the worlds brilliance
All these years later still my favourite sound track, great composition sounds amazing and sends shivers down my back
Everyone should have this in there collection jeff Wayne’s masterpiece!!!
A nightmare that spawned my career
As a child this musical gave me nightmares up until I was around 11 years old! But it is also one of my all time favourites and heavily influenced me to play drums, synth and arrangement as a major part of my career. I can still hear the influence in some productions. It's brilliant.
This version is slightly odd to me, after listening to the original since 1980 this anniversary version has clearly been cleaned up, stereoised and detailed. It's also more clinical and less warm; the bass in Thunder Child is so up front that it feels like a bass-karaoke!
While it's still awesome and nice to hear each track in its own space (the stereo field is just beautifully wide on this version!) and some parts seem to have been re-tracked, this mix doesn't hang together as well with less punch and emotion of the original mixes.
I would gladly exchange the new gorgeous width and new fiddly-bits in this version for a more cohesive, powerful and punchy mix and some of that original feeling.
The best of British
They don't make it like this anymore more, a dads favourite, #jeffwaynes

Wow great album, bought it originally on vinyl, then on CD, one of my most played albums of all time. Worth a place in anyone's collection. I also have the next generation version as well. Absolute bargain.
RUINED BY iTUNES

Too many reviewers stating the play order is messed up, I just want to buy the album and sync it on me iPod and listen to it in the order it's meant to play in and not have to create a 'new playlist'.
Has this been dealt with yet?
A great album

This is a masterpiece of innovation by Jeff Wayne as has been said before make a playlist to put them in the correct order. What an album and reasonably priced too thank you I Tunes for bringing this into the public domain again a superb album!
I love this album (not the new generation version! The original). I am thirteen and I can't stand the monstrosity that is modern music. You have to be into a certain genre to appreciate this music as much as I and many of my friends do.
I have the Original LP of this, still in good condition, sleeve is a bit battered as it was found dumped in a bin many many years ago, but what a fantastic Musical it is, one of my favourites!
