I’ve not been this excited about a band since The Smiths in ‘85! Awesome racket and what a message! No superlative could do Idles justice!

I’m 53 and love my music, but for the last god knows nothing and all of a sudden BOOM its arrived. This album from start to finish is everything you would want, lyrically alluring, musically enthralling. It is aggressively beautiful and beautifully aggressive , alluring yet distant, the feeling i had when i first played the album was strange, i was a little paranoid! i thought the police was gonna kick my front door in!!!! and i aint felt like that for years. Looking forward to the gigs.

If you like your music raw, with an undisguised political message, then this is a must-have album. No punches pulled, no niceties, just in your face Punk. I love it!
  • Entertaining, witty, important - and now with 'singing.'

I love half the songs on Brutalism - but for me there's lots more to enjoy on this follow up. Same wit and humour, same pithy turn of phrase - and some really important, current themes and issues addressed. Still delivered with edge and massive energy, but with more recognisable melodies and what is definitely 'singing' (not only shouting). But there's still some spirit-lifting shouting! Plus real emotion in places - I challenge any parent (or possibly many other people) to listen to 'Joy' without a lump in the throat or 'something in their eye'. Can't wait to see them live.
  • A band to rival slaves?
