  • wonderful

By this is the ony nickname I could find that had not been taken
Best album of 2018 so far imo. A lot of really good, uplifting tracks
  • Fantastic!!

This album is just ace, I stumbled across CHVRCHES a while ago by accident, so glad I did, every song on all albums are all brilliant, the latest release is on par with the other 2 up there with 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ the down side is when listen to it you can’t stop so lose some of day with it on repeat
  • Solid if slightly unspectacular

First off, the sound is broader and more commercial - the synths sound deeper and more layered. I think newcomers to the band will find a lot to like because of this more commercial sound but old timers (like me) may yearn for that cleaner, slightly stripped back sound of the first two albums. Still, its an enjoyable listen but could be viewed as more of a plateau in their development and not that much of a development. I personally like the more reflective lyrics and there are times when Lauren Mayberry's vocals are delicate and plaintive and some of the hooks are just delightful.
  • Not as good as Every Open Eye

Sorry but the last album was better. Better production, cleaner better sound, better songs. Clearest Blue still my fav, have to go some to better it. Perhaps they peaked?
  • Everything you love about Chvrches, done at its best.

    By NathanUnsworth
This phenomenal album is everything you love about Chvrches done at its best. Head-bopping cinematic music with extremely great vocals from Lauren. Quite simply their best work yet. Stand-out tracks are Graffiti, Deliverance, Forever, Miracle, and Heaven/Hell. However, each track brings it’s own special something and collectively makes this all-killer-no-filler masterpiece. Well done, chvrches!
  • Average third album

Sadly after a long wait for their new album, Churches haven't delivered for me the quality of their last two albums with Love is Dead. it all seems a bit lacklustre with hardly any standout tracks (apart from My Enemy). Whether its to do with outside influences from the U.S produced studio, or that they rushed it, it just doesnt contain the magic from before. Hopefully they'll be back on form with their next album.
  • Geat as usual

Love this new album, standout tracks for me are My Enemy (love the male and female vocals), Get Out, Miracle, Never Say Die, and Heaven/Hell.
  • They’ve done it again!

    By One X Media
Although the new polished production lets it down slightly, (they should always produce their own albums!), Chvrches have once again produced an outstanding album. Graves and Heaven/Hell are standout tracks for me. Lauren’s sweet voice lifts me up each time I hear it. Amazing!
  • A real treat

Ok so I am one of those music fans who tends to cherry pick 3 or 4 tracks off an album and download them and pay individually. The whole album here is a real treat with consistently strong songs, and I would urge you to buy the full album; you won’t be disappointed. It is difficult to pick favourites, but ‘my enemy’ (4), and ‘miracle’ (7), are particularly strong. Heavy synth underpins Chvrches style, which will appeal to older listeners like me who grew up in the 80s! Strong baselines and great melodies with some beautiful singing and well constructed lyrics ensure you will keep returning to this album. This album surpasses the high standard the band set for themselves with the excellent Every Open Eye album. These guys are a real credit to the vibrant Glasgow music scene and one of the best things to come out of that great city since Deacon Blue (some fans may be old enough to remember them!).
